The person and the pet deserves to meet first and the person needs to make the choice of which pet to adopt. This makes for far more purrfect endings than a surprise ever could! Many pets that are in shelters and rescues where unwanted gifts. If you do want to give the gift of a pet, take that person to the local shelters and rescues to find their purrfect pet and check into purchasing pet insurance for the year while you are at it! You would be giving that person the gift of healthy companionship!
